Boarding schools in Wales
The undiscovered country in the West
Wales offers some excellent boarding schools, which are often cheaper than those in England and Scotland. The demand for places in Welsh schools is not as high as it is for those elsewhere in the British Isles and many people simply do not consider it as an educational destination. Nevertheless, Wales has a lot to offer: not only excellent schools, but also historic architecture, glorious countryside and beautiful beaches.

Llandovery College
Llandovery College was founded in 1847 with the intention of providing an excellent education with a strong focus on the Welsh language and literature and Welsh still forms part of the school curriculum today. Llandovery is situated in a town of the same name, near to the Brecon Beacons National Park. A traditional school house system and attentive pastoral care combine to structure the school day and to create a strong sense of community amongst the pupils. Llandovery College played an important part in the spread of rugby through Wales. It is still taught and played there to a very high standard today and the school is rightly proud of its national squad.
